"The Friendly Serger Book"
This book covers decorative serging in a generic format and it will teach you how to crerate many decorative stitches on any serger. Look below for a Table of Contents. Check here often for updates.
This book is written in an easy to understand format with a chart on every technique page. This is the same book that I use in my generic seminars. It has evolved over the last several years as I gained insight into the needs of the owners of a variety of sergers.
Quote from the book: This book is dedicated to the
thousands of students who have inspired me with their creativity. I enjoy giving
students ìa license to be creativeî. Many decorative serger techniques start as an
accident. We then make something wonderful from these creative accidents. We must
have the freedom to take chances and try new techniques. I love to play with a new
idea and new threads or simply use threads in a new way. This book is written in
a progressive way to walk you through many new techniques. I will offer suggestions
of threads and helpful hints. This book would not be possible without the creativity
and the patience that the Lord has given me to teach something I dearly love. I hope
you learn much from this book and soon become Best Friends With Decorative Serging!
Thanks to Evelyn Bower for pushing me along and to Marilyn Adams-Church and Carrie
Wyskowski for hours of editorial work.
This book is formatted for generic usage. After teaching numerous seminars on all
brands of sergers I decided to write this book to help you master your brand of serger.
I hope you enjoy learning all about the wonderful stitches a serger is capable of
doing. Note that your serger may not be able to create all of the stitches and techniques
in this book.
