This is our newest coat pattern. It is available now. We had so many requests for a child's sizing so here it is. We hope you enjoy this Child's pattern as much as the adult size. This coat was designed to look like Linda's Serger Coat pattern but it is sized for children. Now your child can have a coat to match.This is a very loose fitting, 3 pattern piece coat with a choice of 2 lengths. It is easily constructed with a shawl collar and pockets. Decorative threads are used to finish the edges of the coat or you may choose a decorative binding. Instructions are given for a serger or a conventional sewing machine. The shawl collar is designed as an extension of the coat body, turning back to show the reverse side of the fabric. Make certain you like both sides of fabric. 60" wide fabric creates a coat with no side seams in sizes 4-14. Suggested fabrics are wool melton, Polar Fleeceô, Ultrasuedeô (may need a side seam), terrycloth or robe fleece (beach or bath robe), a blanket (Woolrich makes a wonderful blanket), or other 58-60î wide double-faced fabric. Additional items needed: Decorative threads for serger, thread for sewing coat together, paper for tracing pattern,*seam sealant for sealing decorative serged seams, scissors, *tweezers, *double eyed bodkin or tapestry needle, and *wire looper threaders.
