"My Treasures Quilt"

Create a gorgeous quilt using fabric treasures from your cedar chest, antique linens or new linens that look antique. Use your serger and sewing machine to embellish some of the fabrics before they are incorporated into the blocks. The quilt blocks for this quilt are created using a flip and sew piecing on a foundation guide. As you piece beautiful fabrics together you will add your fabric treasures to the block.
Each block will be unique as you select fabrics, linens and laces. Embellish the blocks with decorative machine stitches such as antique quilting or embroidery stitches. You may also add hand embroidered stitches. Create the look of hand embroidered stitches in the embroidery software program of your choice. Stitch the newly created stitches along the edges of some of the seams. This is also a great place to use some of your favorite embroidery designs. Add them to a plain linen or handkerchief to make it look antique. Sashings are added between the blocks to accent the theme. The rows of the quilt are sewn/serged in a sandwich fashion with the batting and backing all sewn/serged together.
A border is added to the outer edges and a binding completes the quilt.

Quilter's Dream Cotton batting, Request weight, is recommended for this quilt. It is available at your local independent quilt shop or may be purchased from me.
